About us
The Dental Team at Bank Street Dental practice would like to welcome you to our practice in Galashiels. The practice is now accepting new patients on a private basis. Our aim is to provide you with high quality dental care and to make your visit as pleasant as possible.
We are a long established dental practice in Galashiels. In fact the “roots” of the practice can be traced back to the 1920’s! We care for the whole family. We offer care to all patients on a NHS and private basis.
We are a Childsmile practice and we are enthusiastic about seeing children at an early age to allow them to feel comfortable about coming to the dentist and also to offer advice on all aspects of dental health.
Our Facilities
Our modern and well equipped dental clinic offers you a comfortable, friendly and relaxing environment to receive your treatment. We have recently modernised to include digital dental imaging, including intra-oral scanning and we provide a full range of dental treatments. Our surgeries are accessible to wheelchairs and there is a disabled toilet.

Fillings and Endodontic Treatment
Fillings and endodontic treatment are available. White fillings on posterior teeth are available on a private basis.
Crown and Bridge Work
We offer a range of crowns and bridgework. Bridgework provides an excellent way to replace missing teeth. Following an examination and full assessment our dentists can discuss the best option for you.
Tooth Whitening
An excellent and non-invasive way to brighten up your smile. We use at home illumine whitening system, among the fastest and most effective ways to whiten your teeth. Prices from £295.
Dental Implants
We offer dental implant options to restore missing teeth. They are the closest thing we have to natural teeth when replacing missing teeth. Implants. Prices are from £2500
Adults Teeth Straightening

Dentures
We offer a wide range of denture options to replace missing teeth. These can produce a very natural result.
Dental Hygiene
We believe prevention is better than cure. We provide comprehensive dental hygiene therapy to maintain dental health. A private session with our hygienist costs £70, and is available for immediate booking
Air Polishing
This is a new treatment which gently removes stains from your teeth. This can restore your teeth's natural colour.
Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Treatments
We offer screening methods for assessing sleep breathing disorders in accordance with dental protection Ltd requirements and the clinical skills to prescribe mandibular advancement appliances.

OUR DENTISTS
Greg Canning
(GDC No:75812)
Greg joined the practice in 1999 after graduating from Glasgow Dental School and is now the principal dentist in the practice. He enjoys providing dental treatment for the whole family. He enjoys attending post graduate training courses and training in the latest techniques in all aspects of dentistry. This includes the placement and restoration of dental implants and cosmetic dentistry. Greg has completed post-graduate certification in Dental Implantology, EduQual Level 7.
Greg has a keen interest in cosmetic adult teeth straightening and is trained in a number of systems . This is a non- invasive treatment for providing great smiles. He finds this aspect of dentistry very rewarding.
Sanjana Dandin
(GDC No: 207306)
Sanjana graduated from the University of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore, India. Following completing her Vocational training in Chong Kwan Dental practice, Dunfermline, she joined the practice in 2012. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and providing care for the whole family. She has an interest in cosmetic dentistry and has an interest in working with children and anxious patients which she finds very rewarding.
Sanjana has also completed her training in cosmetic facial injections.
Tesfom Andom
(GDC No: 263962)
Tesfom graduated from the University of Limpopo in South Africa 2006. He joined the practice in 2017. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and building a good rapport with his patients.
Tesfom has a keen interest in cosmetic adult teeth straightening and is trained in a number of systems . This is a non- invasive treatment for providing great smiles.
Tesfom also provides patients with dental implants within the practice, and has completed post-graduate certification in Dental Implantology, EduQual Level 7.
Anya Campbell
(GDC no: 67700)
Anya graduated from Edinburgh Dental School in 1992. After initially gaining experience working in New Zealand, Edinburgh and then Jedburgh she joined the practice in 2018. Anya enjoys all aspects of dentistry and takes a holistic & preventative approach to patient care, appropriate to the individual patient. She endeavours to provide high quality treatment to all her patients helping them maintain good long-term dental health. She has a particular interest in preventative and minimally invasive restorative dentistry and treating anxious and nervous patients.
In her spare time, you'll find her running up a mountain with her dog Meggs (or the rolling hills of the Borders), cycling, swimming and skiing (not in the Borders!) at any opportunity with her family.
She is committed to Continued Professional Development attending several courses annually.
Sue McNeill
(GDC no: 71834
Sue graduated from Newcastle dental school in 1996. She joined the practice in 2022. She had previously worked in Peebles before moving to join the team at Bank Street.
She enjoys working in general practice, providing a full range of general dentistry.
